Is It Time to Replace Your System?
Replacing before a breakdown usually means you choose the system, the timing and the budget. Here are signs it may be time to talk about replacement.
-
Your system is 10 to 15 years old. Efficiency is dropping, and repairs start to add up.
-
Your system is 16 to 20 years old. Replacing it can help you avoid a breakdown in the middle of winter.
-
Your system is 20+ years old. It has given you its value.
-
Salt air and humidity are wearing on it. In Hampton Roads, coil and refrigerant connections can age faster than the manufacturer rating suggests.
-
You have paid for the same refrigerant leak repair more than once. A repeat leak on an older system can point to coil corrosion.
-
The house gets cool but never feels comfortable. The thermostat says 72 and the air still feels sticky.
-
Your energy bills keep climbing with no change in how you use the system.
-
The repair estimate is getting close to replacement cost. Air Handlers gives you both numbers.
Not sure? Book a consultation. You do not have to commit to anything to get the numbers.
